Perf Breakthrough

Cathy Salit, an executive coach to Fortune 500 companies, teaches us how to use the performance techniques of professional actors so that we can grow, learn, and achieve our goals in work and life.  BFM arranged interviews for Salit on major market radio shows, engaged her to speak at a major conference, and helped her develop and place essays for Fast CompanyThe Huffington Post, Linked In Pulse, and Costco’s widely read newsletter.  Performance Breakthrough was published by Hachette in Spring 2016.

Going Public by Norm Champ cover

After the 2008 crash, one very observant hedge fund executive went to Washington DC to work for the Securities Exchange Commission, to see for himself what had gone wrong—and see if he could make a difference. BFM worked with Norm Champ and his agent to develop a book proposal for Going Public. After he got a book deal, we provided editorial services to help him successfully submit his manuscript. Forthcoming from McGraw-Hill, January 2017.

In this deeply personal and important book, Marjorie Baldwin interweaves a memoir of her journey as a mother whose son was diagnosed with schizophrenia, and her perspective as a top labor economist who presents new research on  the workplaces challenges and opportunities for people who have serious mental illnesses.  We helped Dr. Baldwin get a book deal with a publisher.  We also arranged radio coverage and helped her develop key relationships and audiences for her work at the nation’s leading mental health advocacy group. Published by Rowman Littlefield, 2016.

Big Fish Media provided editorial services to NY Times bestselling author and professional speaker Michael Port when he wanted to develop his sixth book. Steal the Show instantly made it onto the bestseller lists in the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and Publishers Weekly.  According to the former President of Starbucks, Port’s book “might be the most unique and practical book ever written on the topic of public speaking.”  Houghton Mifflin 2015.

We are delighted to be an editorial consultant and project partner on Cohen’s book-in-progress Employee Benefits and the New Health Care Landscape, to be published by Financial Times Press in 2017.

Everyone looks for it, everyone trusts it.  Big Fish Media was honored to help develop this corporate history of the Underwriters Laboratories —to be published by IdeaPress Publishing in 2016.  The UL certification label–which has appeared on appliances of every kind–was created during an era of frenzied activity by American inventors, designed to be a lasting symbol of high standards and incorruptibility. In today’s world of innovations and new industries and challenges, UL continues to make the world safer with its legendary exactitude and testing.

CKPrahalad

Big Fish Media created the official website for C.K. Prahalad–the highly revered management philosopher and thinker. The website, which was commissioned by the Prahalad family, features information about his life and work. This includes a detailed bio and timeline, links to his articles and books, and media clips. The website was designed by Kim Williams. We were honored to have worked on this special project featuring one of the greatest business thought leaders of all time.
